I am planning to apply to Wash U this fall, and I was confused when I was reading through the school website. I am planning on doing a combination of a Biology and Studio Art major/minor since I hope to become a Biomedical Illustrator. Is there any way to apply with declared majors across two divisions, or do I have to choose one and update it later if I am accepted? I wasn’t sure where to put this question; I’m sorry if I misplaced it!
There’s a first, second, and third choice option for majors on the Common App. I remember I put three majors from three different schools. You can only choose one school as your primary school. Also, it is very easy to switch schools once you get to school so I would not worry as much. If you think you’re a stronger Bio student, apply to ArtSci. If you have an amazing portfolio and want to focus on art, apply to the art school.
Thank you for explaining! I definitely need to check to Common App and become more familiar with it. Another reason I asked my question is because of the school-specific scholarships. I’ve heard they are difficult to receive, but I’m going to try anyway!
@wafflesquash is absolutely correct! Definitely apply for the school-specific scholarships, even if you don’t receive them, it’s a great way to demonstrate interest
