Is there anyone on this board who was accepted to Notre Dame, but either rejected or waitlisted at Boston College?

I have heard of it happening but it is VERY RARE. I know many more people who were accepted at BC and rejected at ND

Well, that wasn't the answer I was hoping for, but thanks anyways!

Sorry JPP. Good luck!

actually i don't think it's so rare. there's a distinct 'superiority complex' here when it comes to anything to do with bc (as in we are always wanting to remind ourselves how much better we are than bc). but when you scratch the surface, i think you will find as many people who were denied from one and accepted to the other as the inverse. myself i was waitlisted at bc, but it didn't matter since notre dame was my top choice.

I agree that it does happen and there is that superiority complex (and deservedly so, lol). It does happen, but I honestly don't think that it is even. If I had to guess from my time on all of these boards and talking to people I would personally guess it is a 2-1 margin with 2 people being turned down by ND but accepted to BC and the one being the inverse of that. Of course, that is just my perception

There may be something of a superiority complex on the campus... but that doesn't really matter in this situation. Notre Dame is a substantially more selective school than BC.. and while BC is definitely an amazing institution.. Notre Dame's definite higher selectivity warrants saying that it would be a rare occurence. I wouldn't be offended if someone at a school that was ranked quite a bit higher said the same thing about being accepted there vs. at ND. The only problem is that BC and ND are competitive on a different level so people wouldn't want to acknowledge it. The difference between an 18 ranking and a 40 ranking isn't that small of a difference that it can really be discounted. I just don't want people to think that saying something like this implies intense feelings of superiority.
