Question for Ivy/Top Schools

ok crud... i kinda blew this semester and i wanted to know how much it would affect my chances for a highly selective school

Freshman year i got 4.28 1st semester and 4.14 2nd semester (1 B)
Sophmore year i got 4.42 both semesters (1 B in each semeseter)

Junior year:
1st semester i got a 4.67 (1 B 1st semester)
2nd semester i got a 4.33 (THREE B's 2nd semester)

....how will my 2nd semester Junior year affect my chances into getting a top tier school? will it reflect really badly? Or will it have a minimal impact on my chances?

its not that huge a drop... i say minimal

what are your sat scores?

i got a 2180 on my SAT

780 Math
740 Reading
660 writing

... i heard that colleges are taking the reading and math and counting itlike the SAT I... and making the writing count less, such as an SAT iI... which i am hoping for very much

also my rank was 13/787 before this semester.... i am guessing cuz of the bad semester it dropped to between 17-19
(argh....stnking english i got an 89.1..... SO close)

would my second semester hurt any chances for a combined undergrad and medical school?

no idea about the whole medical school thing, although i will say that your class rank/sat scores make you a very competitive applicant at the Ivy's

also do colleges factor in 1st semester of senior year.... the updated rank and gpa?
