Question from a nervous mama

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum.

My daughter was just invited to audition for Wagner College's Musical Theater program on Feb 26th.

My question is this: Does this mean she is actually accepted to the college academically, or is her acceptance contingent on her performance at the audition? The only thing I recall from when we visited was that they said the Performance majors had to pass through the "pre-screening/academic acceptance process before they were offered a chance to audition.

I really hope this means she is in, though I am confident she will do well with her auditions, she is really excited, though she is also super busy because she just got the Witch in Into the Woods for their March production in their HS...I hope she doesn't blow out her voice before auditions, lol.

This whole thing is so nerve wracking, and I hope so much this works out for her. She has already been accepted to PACE and Rider, but Wagner is her top choice.

From Wagner’s web site:
Audition Guidelines for Wagner College Theatre
Prospective Freshmen of Fall 2012
Please work with the Admissions Office to coordinate your visit and audition. Students will be invited to interview and/or audition only after their Wagner College applications have been received.

That seems pretty clear.Once the school has her paperwork, she’s invited to audition and the decision will be made after they hear her.
I’ve known several girls who were playing the Witch during audition season- one dropped the role to preserve her voice and the others marked as much as they could in order to stay safe.
Given the acceptances your D already has, I’m sure that she’ll do great at Wagner too!
