Plane crash.

Yeah Georgia's on the list too, vaguely remember some others. I might try to find it later.

What anniversary of the plane crash passed earlier this year?

What anniversary of the plane crash passed earlier this year?

the 75th?

One of the most famous lines in Notre Dame history was re-enacted on film by Ronald Reagan at the height of his mediocre acting career. Reagan uttered the famous words, win one for the ___: ??

Gipper

But this raises the question, who on earth was the Gipper? Is it a type of fish? :)

The Gipper (The Fighting Irish werent noted for coming up with clever nicknames and usually chose one that was a play on a persons name. The Gipper was chosen for George Gipp after the alternative, The Gimp was rejected in a precursor to the politically correct movement that would become popular decades later.)

whos ur favorite ND football player?

I have a lot of friends who are just great guys but unfortunately don't see the field much so I will name them as my favorite players. Junior Jabbie and Jeff Jenkins are both great guys who just happen to play football.

Which ND player was the highest draft pick from Notre Dame in this last NFL draft?

Anthony Fasano 53rd to my Cowboys!

To follow up on good guys on the team, I've been talkin to Zach Frazer and Darrin Walls and they are the nicest people you can meet.

In total how many ND players were drafted in this last draft?

three, anthony fasano, stovall, and dan stevenson (along with six more signing in free agency)

now to stir up a little controversy probably... which dining hall is the best on campus?

There is no controversy, especially since I got to this first :). The best dining hall is South, everyone knows it but only half of us are willing to admit it; the other half use denial as a coping mechanism :).

What Notre Dame major requires study abroad?

Architecture

What is special about ND waffle irons (so I've heard)?

Perhaps that they will put the monogram in the middle of your waffle? The rumor is true.

Which hall annually hosts a regatta which is one of the biggest campus events of the spring?

OK--here's one...ND is not in South Bend, but is actually in "Notre Dame, IN". Father Sorin had the foresight to include a US Post Office on campus when the university was founded. (According to our tour guide -- and it makes perfect sense), what is the biggest advantage to the university today because he did that?

since no one has stepped up to the plate, I'll take a shot at your question, Irish...Is it Fisher Hall?

I certainly think so :). I have no idea on yours though; I never took a tour of ND!

"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds..."

In other words....the university is not responsible for the snow removal on all the access roads leading to the Post Office!! AND..these roads are some of the first ones cleared! (Pretty cool, wouldn't you say?!)

So now you know!! :)

Do you have another question MamaSparrow? I can ask another one but I don't want to steal your thunder, you have the right to ask it (especially since you stumped the board).

Go for it!

This may stump people but what are the Irish Rover and Common Sense (hint is Observer)?

Hey, Irish...isn't this final's week at ND?

(If so, what ARE you doing on this forum??--You should be studying...instead of playing with us!....)

It is finals week but I only had two finals and I finished today, so all is well :). Honestly, as crazy as this is, I enjoy being here and it helps me relieve stress some so that is why I come. Thankfully I did survive finals, however. Yay for summer (keep your fingers crossed, my grades could be really good this semester)

the Observer (I think) is a paper on ND's campus...are the other 2 somehow related to publications also?
