I heard a week ago and fortunately was accepted. Anyone else receive a letter yet?

No, most are deaf.

D heard today..... accepted! She's been on pins and needles for weeks. Was waitlisted last year and was heartbroken...... Today life is good.Last year as a parent I did not know what to say or do,she got accepted to all of her other schools including U of Penn but she had her heart set on N/D. As you can see from the handle she took the SMC route and loved it,contrary to what you may read in other posts the school, classes and adminstration is great. As a family we highly recommend it,as a father I slept good at night knowing she was in good hands. ND Freak congradulations I have been following your posts for awhile along with IRISH 68178 who over the last 2 years always gave good advice and recommendations, thanks much. Oh and GO IRISH .....

can I ask what her stats were?

CK here is the stats forgive if they are not in the format or jargon that runs the norm here.
Sat 1380,1/371,HS GPA 4.0, good EC ,school paper, Hon Soc Pres. EPclasses,Hosp Vol. for college GPA 3.7 matched classes to ND schedule and made sure she took all required math and science lots of EC,real good letters of reccomendation, and worked with the ND guidance counselor and did what they advised.... hope this helps.

congratulations to her!

Wow, those are really good stats, I am surprised she didnt get in as a freshman. congrats again

Thanks CK and Forgiven,Guess things do happen for a reason.good thing about the first year is that she met some really good friends at both ND and SM. We live really far away so the whole 1st year was made so much easier because of who she met and what she got involved with at both schools.

Too bad she didn't go to USC - oh well, at least she can watch us win the football game! :)

ducks

Congrats to your daughter SMC/ND09.

And that was a bold move going to Saint Mary's instead of UPenn. I would have probably went to Penn even if I was going to transfer b/c I would have thought that it would have been easier to get in from an Ivy League university than a small college. But hey, it worked!

NDFreak7,thanks. We are from the area and I use to work the district near Penn campus lets just say you need to be real careful, great school but in all the visits she never got a good feel about it.SMC is a fantastic school and no one should shy away thinking they have less then a chance for entry into ND if that is there goal or if they choose to stay for the full four years.

T 256 -just like a Trojan fan to come to a gun fight with a knife :) Good luck with the season hopefully things will be different this year..........

i am currently premed at cornell but am finding the school is way too big, too many TA's teach classes, i'm not in greek life and so feel like i miss out a lot at cornell in the social life.... and i applied to transfer to ND, and got in (as a rising junior). most people would call me crazy to drop ivy league for ND, what do you think??

Indec..... first congrads, know that you are not alone as indicated in another post my D passed up u of P because thats how strongly she connect with N/D after one summer program. There really is something about the place and its more then just football.......... If you go get involved and don't look back there really is magic in the sound of there name...............Go Irish.

I consider ND one of the "New Ivies" (Duke, Vandy, Stanford, Georgetown, etc.).
