Question in Writing Section

The question says: On October 13, 1955, at the Six Gallery in San Francisco, Allen Ginsberg read his poem Howl, being the inauguration of both a new style in poetry and the Beat movement.

I chose choice A (no error), but the correct choice was "Howl, thus inaugurating both"

I understand that it doesn't make sense to say Allen was being the inauguration, but how do you know that the verb "being" applies to Allen and not his poem Howl?

Just a tip: Being is 98% of the times wrong.

Being is rarely ever correct, if you need to guess, pick one without it.
