I graduated from the computer science & engineering program in 2002 from UConn, with a 2.4GPA. I'm now interested in a PhD in biomedical engineering and have applied to several schools for 2008.

Since 2002 I've taken 6 undergrad classes with an average GPA of 3.63, and have been working in MRI research for 4 years. I did ok on the GREs 710Q/550V/4.0A...

I'm wondering what chances I have of being admitted to a PhD program? I've heard that GPAs from more than 5 years ago are considered "ancient history" for some schools and aren't as important as other criteria. I'm wondering if the classes I've taken since then, the research I've done, and abstracts I've published will make up for a really low undergrad GPA?
