Question on FRQ Choices in AP US History Exam

This is really stupid, but is it necessary to indicate which of the options you are choosing within a particular essay before you begin your essay? I would think that simply stating it in your intro/thesis would be enough.

You were only suppose to indicate the essay you were working on by entering which essay you were working on (1,2,3, etc.) inside the little box at the top of the page, that way there was no need to mention it at all in your essay.

I know that; I meant after you chose an essay, when you were picking which 2 out of 3 possible parts to do.

You also indicated it on the first page, and on the mc scan sheet lol, it's such a hassle.

Still, I can see why they want to do this, because they want to make sure the essay is indeed yours. If you handwrite it in and bubble it in on the essay booklet, and bubble it in on the answer sheet, it shows that the essay book is definitely yours lol.
