Question on Where I take the exam?

So I have a question regarding the exam day for self-studiers.

If I plan to study an AP Course that my school doesn't offer, do I take the test at my school by myself with proctors

OR

do I go to another school that offers the course as a class and take it with the students at that high school?

One of those two. :)

You should talk with your school’s AP coordinator to see what they would like you to do. Some schools will order the test for you and proctor it for you. Other schools, especially schools that have nearby schools that offer a wider AP selection, will have you take it at a nearby high school.

You should probably discuss this with your AP coordinator sooner rather than later, so that both you and your school can make the proper arrangements rather than trying to figure it out in a panic in early May.

Has anyone had an issue with finding a school nearby that would let you take the test with them?

I have a feeling that I will -__-

Though if you don’t panic and leave it off at the last minute, it shouldn’t be a big deal. I believe most schools register AP stuff in January anyway?

So we should start asking around then? I think on College Board it says ask by March. I hope I find somewhere that will let me take it with them.

Just talk to your guidance counselor and find out everything you need to know. If that goes south, contact the CollegeBoard itself.

My guidance counselor probably won’t help much because we don’t have any APs at all.I’ll probably just end up calling College Board around January.
