Hello All! I hope Everyone is Having a Pleasant Summer!
I’m a incoming Junior in a Jesuit Prep School. It’s a very hard school to get accepted to it and it’s a very good one. My question is that I have a 89.5 unweighted GPA; which is 0.5 away from a 4.0 in our school. Should I say I have a 3.95 GPA?
Also, while I’m on the topic, I’m a Varsity Letter swimmer for my school ( 3 years), taking AP English, Biology Honors, Algebra 2 Trig Honors for Junior Year. I was chosen to represent my school in Camden for a Volunteering trip in June, and I also volunteer by teaching little kids swimming(Certified Lifeguard, CPR/First Aid). In my school I’m in the Stock Market Club, French Club, and Recycling Comity.

To get into the USAFA was my dream since I was young. I always wanted to be a Air Force pilot. So once I discovered this Academy my Sophomore year I knew what I had to do. Emigrating from Eastern Europe (I’m a Citizen Now) I always wanted to give back to America for what its given me. I’m grew up not in the best neighborhood but there was always opportunity to go forward. I was accepted into the Jesuit prep School by me being in the top 5% of my middle school. I was there and I started losing sight of hard work; since I found out about college costs, and what strain that it will bring to the family. I thought to myself “you know, why hard work even If I’m smart but I can’t afford”? So freshman year I had a 87 Avg with no Honors. Sophomore Year I took Math Honors beacuse that’s my strong subject, but with no motive to work, so I had an 83 Avg. I was feeling down in the dumps but then one day my neighbor ( a WW2 Veteran) spoke with me and knocked me straight, saying not to give up on my goals, and not to stop believing in dreams. I thought to myself: “Damn, look what the military does to a man, it makes him a leader”. And there I remembered my dream of being an Air Force pilot; a dream I almost gave up. So there I was middle of Sophomore year with an 83 Avg. I researched my options and I found this place; a academy designed to create future leaders, open to all socioeconomic classes, and most importantly one that gives back to America. I saw what the requirements were and I told myself time to get it into gear. I stepped up to the plate and now my avg went up 6.5% to 89.5% in half a year. So how are my chances looking to get into USAFA ?{Sorry for Long Read}
