Prior to our childs interview we had researched potential questions in an attempt to get our child thinking about their answers. None of these "potential questions" were asked. Our childs interviewer had read the application and asked questions regarding a particular ec and specific question regarding the application. what were other peoples experiences?

I recommend using the search tool to try and find some “interview” threads. I’m pretty sure there were several during the Fall that contained “What questions came up?”

buzzandwoody - Consider yourselves fortunate that your child’s interviewer took the time to familiarize himself with your child and to ask questions specific to your child. I would imagine that was a much better experience than the “canned” interview you anticipated.

I would expect that although all interviewers make some effort to familiarize themselves with the students they are interviewing, it is certainly easier to do that when a completed application has already been received. And, that having been said, some interviewers just do a better job than others of getting to know the student they are interviewing.

@dodgersmom thanks and I agree we certainly did appreciate more familiar approach even through it was not what we had been told to expect.
@SevenDad I did seach but was unable to find a similar thread.
