Hello, I am interested in applying to UCLA and so far I love the environment and the opportunities given at this school. However, I have heard that due to such a large class size it is difficult to attend classes that you would like to, and many of the freshmen are not able to schedule several of the classes they desire. Can someone clarify this rumor?

Somewhat true to the extent that you might be unhappy for a few days, but not enough to cry about. Not something I’d let get in my way of attending UCLA. You’d probably run into similar situations at a lot of institutions.

You won’t always get the perfect schedule that you want, but that’s not going to happen at any school. You can usually get most of the classes you need/want if you get them on your first pass. I’ve never seen our “large class sizes” as a whole really affect me or anyone else.

For classes that have high demand, chances are you’ll end up with a time or a professor that wasn’t your first choice, but you should still be able to get the class.

Don’t know what you’re interested in, but if it’s medieval studies, they have a really awesome professor in the English department!!!
