question?--super high contrast between GRE V+Q and AW

V800 99%
Q800 94%
AW 3.5 26%-----I finally got my AW score, actually, I'm noy surprised,
I'm not a very strong writer, I can write papers, I can ace all the writing classes, but I just don't get the GRE essay.

I wasn't expecting my Verbal and Quant to be so high, I thought it was impossible to score perfectly.
My major is genetics, three year research exp, worked in two labs. One paper as co-author, and I'm writing another one as second author.
Will this GRE score look suspecious on my application? well, at the grad schhol's point of view

Didn’t you ask this a while ago? :stuck_out_tongue:
AW is the least of adcoms weighing because they know the scoring system is ridiculous.

Don’t worry about it, your research is very strong, most grad student doesn’t even publish until later year and yet you already have one co author.

I don’t think a 3.5 is a low AWA at all. It’s average, but nothing extraordinarily bad.

An AW score of 3.5 is a low score, but it won’t matter, especially given your verbal score. Most programs only glance at AW. While a 3.5 is in red flag territory, your research and statement of purpose should dispel any momentary doubts.

I have done grad admissions several times (in political science). Our spreadsheet for candidates doesn’t even have a column for the AW scores. In other words, we don’t even look at them.
