How would a college know whether a student participated in a sport/club other than by the students word? Is it on the transcript? Ive been wondering and would really like to know, Thanks!! :)

They don’t and no. And of course, you’re only asking because you’re curious, right?

Much of your application is backed up by only your word. Small things are unlikely to be fact-checked. Major claims might be fact-checked, especially if they seem out of place.

If you’re considering lying, don’t. If you get caught, even if it was a month before your college graduation, you could be expelled.

Just because they’re often relying entirely on your word doesn’t mean you’re not still obligated to maintain your honesty and integrity by being truthful.

They usually don’t, but some college counselors take the effort of confirming your extracurricular activities. So if what you’ve said you have done and what the college counselors have said you done don’t match up, there’s going to be a problem.
