I really screwed up in high school. I didn't bother with doing the work, started missing a lot of classes. It wasn't that I couldn't do the work - it is that I didn't see the point and had no interest in it. Mostly this was because I had no objective. However, I now have my G.E.D. and will be taking community college courses. My G.E.D. scores were: Language Arts Writing, 790; Social Studies, 780; Science, 780; Language Arts Reading, 800; and Mathematics, 700. I will be taking the SAT sometime soon, but based on the practice tests I have taken, I figure I will get something along the lines of the following: Critical Reading, 760; Mathematics, 700; and I am assuming it will be fairly high for writing.

Anyways, the point of this post is, I have a very strong desire to serve in the United States Coast Guard as an Officer. I know that I really screwed up in high school, and then screwed up in dropping out. However, I am fixing it to the best of my ability by going to community college, and I have started volunteering a lot. My question is, do I stand any chance of getting admitted to the Coast Guard Academy after a year or two of community college?
