Questionaire for roommates..?

I know a lot of college have a questionnaire if you're getting a random roommate, does buffalo have one? Thanks!

I don’t remember one when I was a freshman. All I think I did was put in preferences about where I wanted to live.

My son is currently a freshman and at this time last year, as an offshoot to the official “Class of 2015” Facebook Page, one young man created an offshoot open group page with a survey that the accepted students could post to. If I cut and pasted properly, here are the questions:

This group is in no way affiliated with the SUNY University at Buffalo.

Fill out this survey (or if you found a better one fill that one out) and then post it on the wall in order to find your best matched roommate! If you want to add any questions, go ahead and do so!

Other Interesting Facts:

Students would read about each other and make contact. If they liked each other, they would request each other when they applied for housing. My son found 2 great roommates this way.

I was told my freshman year that they used to have a questionnaire, but they got rid of it after they found that it didn’t really help in matching roommates. From what I was told, people would fill out their sections to match the ideal of what they saw in a roommate - even if it was not actually representative of them - or would even have it filled out by a parent. From what I was told, the amount of roommate conflicts reported and room change requests did not rise when they got rid of it.
