Questions about AMBA accredited schools?

I am thinking of doing a MBA after my PhD finishes, so even cutting the PhD short and doing a MBA. Anyway, so long as a school is AMBA accredited is that a globally recognized stamp of quality?

Within the 47 accredited UK schools, does it matter which one I attend?

Thanks,

what is your end goal with the MBA degree? are you looking just to learn about business? if so, any school will do. if you want to open up opportunities in fast track careers, you need to attend a fairly prestigious one.

In UK, there are 3 that fit the prestigious category: LBS >> Cambridge (Judge) >= Oxford (Said).

Not Cass?

What about the likes of Henley, Aston or Manchester?

From a global prestige perspective, those schools you’ve mentioned are very regional.

I can’t speak from an UK perspective. I would recommend that you research the employment statistics for those schools. Figure out which employers recruit there, for which positions, and the historical placement.

Top-tier firms recruit globally, which includes the ~top 16 schools in the US and top European schools. While it’s not impossible to score a great gig at your mentioned schools, candidates will face an uphill battle, especially if the school is not a core school for the firms.

I see.

What are the US top 16?

Anyone want to catch me up?
