Questions about applications

When do most schools make applications available?

Most will be available in September.

I believe St. Paul’s is available now online. Their timeline (and many others) is as follows:

Summer or Fall:
Begin the application process by requesting a Viewbook and application materials. Schedule an interview.
Arrange to take the Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT)
Fall:
Arrange to take the Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT)
Interview with a member of the St. Paul’s School Admissions faculty and visit the School, if possible. If you cannot visit the school, arrange to have an interview with a regional representative in your area. Call our office for referrals: (603) 229-4700.
Begin requesting recommendations, transcripts, and the school report from your current school.
Winter:
December 15: If applicable, submit a sample CD/DVD to the music or athletic department by December 15.
January 15: All application forms, including transcripts, recommendations, and standardized test results must be submitted by January 15.
Review the application checklist to be sure you have taken care of all the necessary pieces.
March 10: St. Paul’s School notifies candidates and their families of admissions decisions.
April 10: St. Paul’s School believes that young people applying to secondary schools benefit from a careful and thoughtful exploration of all educational opportunities. The School therefore does not ask applicants to make an enrollment commitment prior to April 10.
