for those of you currently at nyu or are nyu alumni (and anybody else who may have an opinion about this), how are the "Dramatic Literature, Theatre History, and the Cinema" and "Cinema Studies" majors at CAS? These two majors don't seem to be popular ones at NYU, and I was wondering if it was a good idea to choose either of them as my second major? They sound interesting, but why does it seem as if nobody selects them? Is it because they are relatively weak?

If you're interested, they would be great second majors (in addition to something more traditionally academic like econ, math, philopsophy, some type of science). The cinema studies major is taken in Tisch.

Lot of these majors are in really good departments, they just aren't popular as a good portion of CAS is pre-med, pre-law, econ, math, etc. People who are intersted in things like this are more apt. to go Gallatin or Tisch, not CAS. However, if this is something you're really interested in, these majors would certainly be stellar options.
