Most of the advice I've received from people and the Internet concerning the personal essay instructed me not to talk about one of my extracurricular activities and to instead introduce a new topic. But what about a specific experience that relates to one of my extracurriculars? I wouldn't exactly be rehashing information because I'd be going into detail and be offering a more subjective perspective so I'm wondering how that would look. Thank your for your help!

Your essays give you a chance to show admissions your traits/character that aren’t shown in your academic performance. It’s an opportunity for admissions to know you as a person. If you feel really passionate about this experience and also feel it’ll enable admissions to know you better in a positive light, then go ahead.

Hope this helps. Good luck! : )
