How often do students get to go off campus and take the train to Philly? Is it common to do this on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays? How much does it cost by train for a round trip to and from Philly? If I go to Villanova, will it be easy for me to get off campus and go to Philly every weekend, or would it be too much of a hassle?

I’m going to be commuting by train from Philly every day, so I don’t think it’s too much of a hassle. It costs about five dollars each way (less if you buy your ticket in advance online) if you take the R5 from Villanova to 30th Street Station. The Villanova station’s right on campus, so you wouldn’t have any problem getting there.

I just visited Villanova and I am worried about how secluded the school felt from Philly. I want both a campus and a city feel and I am worried that students’ social lives will revovle around the mainline and not alot on Philly. Im just worried of getting very tired of the campus after a while.
So, my question is how dependent are the students on Philly for fun. Is it a random day to go eat dinner there, or is it more of a city lifesytle than go home to a pretty campus?

I’m pretty sure the R5 (Which is INCREDIBLY easy to take and you can get monthly, or weekly passes, or it’s 5 dollars round trip) goes to/near villanova.
I live near villanova, and their are plenty of great things on the main line too.
