Alright, so I’m probably applying to Hopkins, and I have two questions:

I know that if you apply to the BME Major, it’s possible to get accepted to Hopkins but not the BME Major. If that happens, and you decide to matriculate, once you’re at Hopkins, can you transfer in to the BME Major?

What percent of Hopkins students are pre-meds?

Thanks :)

transferring into BME is possible but very rare and super competitive.
as there is no premed major in hopkins, its is difficult to tell % of premeds

(1) If spaces open up in the BME major at the end of a student's freshman year, the Whiting School of Engineering will contact all Johns Hopkins freshmen regarding spaces available in the program and the process for internal transfer. This has occurred in only a few circumstances and most students are advised to enroll at Johns Hopkins with the knowledge that transferring into BME is a highly competitive occurrence.

(2) As *jupiteradept * stated it is difficult to determine the percent of Hopkins students that are pre-med because there is no formal process of delcaring yourself as a pre-med (no sign-up sheet). General estimates are that at any time 20-25% of undergraduates at Hopkins plan on pursuing Medical School at a later date.
