oh, and the "need to beat more" means they are saying they should train her harder physically so she hurts so she won't be as happy.

As redhead said, your life completely depends on squad. My squad this year is ultra lenient on the 4 digs, I have only seen them dropped once so far (and they did like 20 pushups). Contrasting that to my 4 degree year in what was generally accepted as one of the worst squads in the wing for 4 degrees, it's hard for me to watch and not get jealous of how easy they have it (I know this is not the case for many other squads in the wing talking to some of my friends, I am speaking solely of my squad here). But I guess it's just lucky for them.

therover, I think she means that the upperclassmen say that they need to beat her more because she is "too happy"

well you know redhead if you stopped happily singing the words every time you did a facing movement... ;)

i'm also a 4-dig IC, there are definitely both advantages and disadvantages to it. lunch is awesome and it's nice to be able to actually be friends with upperclassmen and not get in trouble (as long as you remember they're "cadet so-and-so" up here), and occasionally you get out of military duties like SAMI's and parades if you are in season and have a game that day. however you really pay for it with your time. i only have 2 free periods and after lunch i go straight to practice and dont get back to the squad until about 6-7, leaving me only a couple hours to do homework, study, learn knowledge/checkpoints, get uniforms/room ready, shower, and try to get to bed at a decent hour. which i'm not doing at the moment and will pay for tomorrow, by the way. we also miss out on the beatings, i'm sorry 'professional training', which everyone understands and is cool with, but at the same time not doing something with your squad and especially classmates sucks. time management is everything here, but as an IC you will not survive without excellent time management skills.

Can 4digs leave to go home Columbus day weekend

Possibly, but it might take some paperwork. There's a 150 mile radius around the Academy that you have to stay inside unless you're on leave. If home is within that radius, then you're fine - just take a pass or two and enjoy. If you wanted to go outside the 150 mile zone, you would have to send an SCA up the chain of command, probably talk to your AOC, etc. Would they approve that kind of thing? Honestly, I have no idea. Maybe one of the 3 degrees on here has some experience in that area.

for a typical three day weekend, as long as a SSS is sent up through the proper channel then there would be no problem as long as no classes or military events are missed (ie, a blue weekend).

unfortunately, that weekend is a silver weekend because we have the mandatory football game at home against UNLV. now, not to say that the SSS won't get approved, but it will be more difficult.

as a 4 dig, I know that it probably depends on the squadron. Basically, you can fill out an SSS and see if it gets approved, but no guarantees. Our AOC was straight-up with us and said that those things are usually approved if you're on top of your game, and you're not missing out on any training (which they won't have on columbus day)

what ZMAN07 said. If you are doing well and send up a SSS with a Form 99 for travel outside the 150 mile radius, then you should be able to go home. I did it right after finals before starting jump.

So, did everybody pass this morning's SAMI and ORI?

Yup, no problemo!

95% Sami, 100% Ori. :)

redhead! we expect perfection!! hahaha
what was the -5% for?

Freckles out of standards. :) JK JK!

90% on the SAMI, Auto-fail on the ORI (because my shirt had a burn mark on it that I didn't see until I was outside on the Terrazo in the sunlight. By then, it was too late) Yeah, I got a little bit of grief over that...other than that though, perfect uniform.

aw hornet give her a break.. she cant help it she was born that way :)
dang falcons, talk bout unlucky

Tell me about it...

Has anyone done any Spirit missions they would like to talk about? We've done some, but we're not ready to talk about them...

Nothing as of yet, but Rebeleven won't be immune to our raids for long.

Oh, indeed, hornet is right. I got deducted points for improper arrangement of freckles. I didn't know this, but I'm apparently supposed to outline the words "hornet is my hero" in sunblock on my forehead before I go out in the sun so that I eventually have it tattooed on there in freckles. It's in the ROEs, for sure. :) haha, my room was actually perfect. The guy who was grading our squad was determined to not give any of the 4 degrees 100% on their inspections. Towards the end, he commented that our room looked really good, and then as he was leaving, he noted that there was a tiny sliver of paper in the crevice of the doorframe. He just kind of laughed and said, "But you have trash on your floor." grrr...

As far as spirit missions, my lips are sealed. But ours will take the cake, I can tell you that much. And it will be a big slice of chocolate cake!

yeah, all SAMIs/ORIs depend heavily on the greater. i got 100s on both, but our grader was easy. anyone can take off for dust if they want. as far as spirit missions, there hasn't been anyhting noticable at all to me, so i expect redhead to have a good one with all her talk ;)

Haha, I saw a couple 4 digs chuck shopping bags of water off the T-zo at someone sunbathing. Not a very good prank, but funny to watch...
