Questions about merit scholarships

I thought that BU had half tuition scholarships for NMS finalists and also a Univeristy Scholars half tuition scholarship. It looks like these have been replaced by $20,000/year NMS finalist and by $20,000/year Presidential scholarships. Does anybody know if that is the case? This is a little disappointing since $20,000/year is a fixed amount that probably does not keep up with rising tuition costs the way that half tuition would. Also, does anybody know if the NMS finalist scholarship is guaranteed or are there a limited number? Are merit scholarships stackable (can a student get more than 1 merit scholarship)? Thanks!

Unfortunately, it does seem as though BU has replaced half-tuition with 20k, and the website seems to imply that they are limited–not a good thing since one has to list BU as their first choice to even be eligible, and that disqualifies them from receiving NMS finalist scholarships from any other school…

I, too, am curious as to whether or not merit scholarships are stackable, though. COA is a big issue my family has with BU, so merit and financial aid will be a big factor in my decision…

I am not sure if this is what you are asking, but my daughter received a scholarship from BU, as well as several outside scholarships. The outside scholarships cover most of our EFC.

Not sure if this helps but daughter didn’t receive merit scholarship but did get over 30,000.00 in renewable grants…actually worked out better. We also appealed the fin.aid (had a valid reason) and received a little bit more.
