Questions about Music Minor

<p>I have a few questions about the music department at Allegheny College.</p>

<p>Is an audition required to minor in music? How rigorous is the music curriculum? I’ve played classical music on the piano for the past 5-6 years, but I’ve never participated in a band or orchestra. Do you think I would have a hard time minoring in music?</p>

<p>Oh, and does anybody know what “division” the music department is in? Like is it a natural science, or social science, or humanities?</p>

<p>Music is in the humanities. You will not need to audition to minor in music. There are certain classes that you need to take for a minor or concentration, but you don’t have to be really good on an instrument to do a minor.</p>
