Questions about Position/Leadership Description

Hello all!

I was browsing around on the internet today and noticed that some people specify grade level for leadership positions. The Common Application instructions did not specify that the grade level of a leadership position should be included, so I just put my highest leadership position in that section. Is a college going to assume I have been president for all four years that I have done an activity? I have applied to a very selective school (Vanderbilt University), and I don’t want to get rejected because of something stupid like a formatting error.

Thanks!

I personally find it weird when people put Robotics: Secretary (9), Assistant Director (10), VP (11), President (12). My opinion is that if you’re president (or the equivalent of a high leadership position), colleges will know that you’ve worked hard to get it and have had lower, less prestigious leadership positions before then.

You should not worry about colleges thinking you have been dishonest in my opinion.

I put the grade, but I think they’ll assume you’re President just this year unless you specified otherwise. Don’t worry about it!

@collegebobollege you’re so helpful!!! You should get into Vanderbilt for helping everyone haha

Hahaha if only that were enough…
