I'm currently an undergraduate economics major at JHU, and I'm beginning to think about graduate school options. I'm particularly interested in international economics and finance, so I'm looking at the IR schools known for these fields. I have several questions regarding admissions.

As far as SAIS goes, will going to JHU for undergrad help at all with admissions? (I will not be doing the 5 year BA/MA program.)

Also, do IR schools give preference to legacy applicants? (I have members of my immediate family who attended both SAIS and Fletcher.)

Thanks in advance.
