Hi Kakashi 93:

I “believe” you’re referring to the Donor Scholarships mentioned/listed on the Howard University website? There will be more information specific to your particular circumstances if you contact the International Student Advisory (and I’d suggest you do so as soon as is possible). Generally, Scholarships are awarded the semester PRIOR to attendance and once all of the monies are depleted, there are now new awards until the following School year. (Contact the International Student Advisory to see if there are any specific scholarship awards for International Spring Admits?) Usually, (as a Spring admit), your attendance is occurring AFTER the issuance of scholarship monies has been awarded for the full financial year. Scholarships awarded to individual recipients- the semester prior to enrollment/attendance.

Here is some more information that will give you a framework for how early Scholarship applications are expected:

o No student is guaranteed an award (regardless of GPA, filing date or other criteria met). Our team will do our best to match eligible students with available funds. Priority is assigned by 1) how closely the student meets the donors criteria, 2) application submission date, 3) any additional financial need or academic merit.
