Hello all,

I am going to be a freshman at SLC this fall, and I just had a couple questions about some statistics.

Why is Sarah Lawrence's acceptance rate so high?

Why is Sarah Lawrence's graduate rate so low?

I know SLC isn't big on ranks and stats, but I think numbers can still shed some light on important parts of a college. Thank you for helping.

I can only answer your first question.
First, you already know SLC isn’t big on ranks and stats. Because this, many international students don’t know this
college. As a Chinese student, I know that nearly all Chinese students would choose a top 50 university rather than suitable college. I believe that most American students would choose more well-known schools like the Ivy League Univeraities.
Second, SLC is very unique. Not all the students can accept its unusual teaching and living atmosphere.
In a word, don’t think too much about those useless statistics if you are a student at this distinct college. No more doubts. Enjoy and work hard!
I’m applying for 2015 fall now and I hope I’ll meet you next year.
Best wishes to you from China!

I will chime in on question #1. As you know, the application process for SLC is somewhat detailed. So, students don’t apply there just for the sake of applying. For this reason, the applicant pool is made up of only students who are serious about attending SLC; thus the high acceptance rate.

Thanks! Hope I see you there(: @SarahYin
