Questions About the Appeal [HELP]

So I’m currently finishing up my appeal letter, and I have a couple questions I’m unsure about.

First, how exactly should I format the letter? Should I start with “Dear Admissions Office” or is it more like a normal essay? Should I end it with “Sincerely…” and then sign it?

Also, I’ve done some research online and I’ve heard that as a waitlisted applicant, I should send a letter of enthusiasm that states my interest to the college. Is this helpful or would it be considered more of an annoyance to admissions? Or would my appeal essentially count as a statement of interest?

Lastly, if there are any past applicants that successfully appealed (or anyone that could help, honestly), I’d love to get some feedback on my essay if you have the time.

I plan to send in my appeal in the next 1-2 days, so any response would be absolutely appreciated. Thank you! :-c

I think signing it adds personality and character to the letter, so I don’t think it’s a bad idea at all. However, the concern is how professional should a student go with this appeal. I’m sure “Dear ___,” is not used in a professional setting. I’m currently going through an Appeal with UCSB, so best of luck!
