Questions About the Cornell CALS TO!!

Cornell has always been my top school, but I am kinda confused about the transfer option and all it entails. It seems as though everyone off the CALS waitlist was given TO… is this true, or is the transfer option pretty selective? Also, if someone gets into Cornell by way of the transfer option is it still regarded as “impressive” to get into an ivy league school or is it kinda “fake” admission? This sounds kinda stupid haha but I’m genuinely wondering. Thanks!!!

The TO is not given to everybody on the waitlist, and it is an actual offer of admission, but starting 1 year later, and with a contingency that you take certain courses elsewhere and don’t mess them up. You will have to work just as hard as other Cornell students Soph-Senior years to graduate, There is nothing less impressive about the degree hanging on your wall when/if you graduate.

You might not like being a transfer student from a social standpoint, but that’s a different story.

From an academic/career standpoint you will be in the same boat as everyone else.
