@lindyk8 No problem at all! And I sincerely appreciate all the help
In any other news, was anyone able to find out anything? I tried to call and talk to some other students but I’ve got nothing

A) don’t mention the deans list
B) show all courses you have signed up to take in the winter and spring quarters as IP.
Basically you need to show planned completion of IGETC or Cal breath and your major requirements by the end of the Spring quarter or semester. Failure do so will kill your chances of admission.
Disagree. Don’t list classes IP that aren’t IP
@luckie1367
My unofficial college transcript has courses I have signed up for as in progress.
So?
There are classes that are not IP, why would you say they are in progress?
@luckie1367
What?
If you have signed up for a class then it is in progress. simple as that.
No. If you are ACTIVELY TAKING THE CLASS. It is IP.
Anything that you have PLANNED TO TAKE is PL.
For example, if someone asked me what I was doing right now, I wouldn’t respond “on CC and sleeping” just because I plan to sleep later.
IP is IP and PL is PL
taking a course starts the moment you are enrolled in the class and not on the 1st day of class.
according to your logic, someone who enrolled for a course but never showed up (and wasn’t dropped for some reason) wouldn’t receive an F.
Where does it say IP starts with enrollment? They have IP and PL separate for a reason.
Maybe I should clarify:
IP means the is class is active, i.e meeting, having assignments, etc. Its active regardless of the person’s attendence.
PL is classes that are not active, i.e the semester hasn’t started yet.
Edit: And by your logic, I can say I’m carrying 22 units, when I am really not. That is misleading.
no man, that is just your “incorrect” opinion.
Like I said, my college transcripts clearly lists 'COURSES IN PROGRESS"
As soon as you sign up for a class it is in progress. END OF DISCUSSION
Just because your school lists it that way on your transcript does not make it a rule for every other student.
If it is not an active term, the classes are not IP.
Hopefully we can engage in debate of a more stimulating variety when we’re all accepted to Cal
I may just be feeling giddy for nothing, but did anyone else receive an email about applying for the Leadership Award scholarship? Can I feel special for a moment :-?
@JustinUC I also received an email regarding the Leadership Award scholarship.
Congrats @justinUC and @FUTUREUCLABRUIN1 .
@JustinUC @FUTUREUCLABRUIN1 same here.
@lindyk8 do you know if it means anything? And, did someone read our application and decide that we would be good candidates; or was it strictly based on metrics (3.X+ GPA, a certain amount of extracurriculars, etc.)?
@anothertransfer Don’t worry about it. Alumni scholarships committee are handed a bunch of applications somehow or other from admissions and they pick and choose, and it seems arbitrary. Admissions is not part of the process. Maybe the applicant checked a scholarship box in the application, maybe a word jumped out at them.
Last year I know of students who got no offers for any scholarships, were 4.0 and got in to every UC they applied to. Some got invited to apply for an alumni scholarship and were not admitted. Also, in this case, if you don’t have any outstanding leadership ECs they wouldn’t send it out.
But anyone can apply. It is not invite only. You can google it. Deadline us early March.
@lindyk8 Thanks for the clarification. I wonder exactly what indicator was used, if any.
I also noticed your last point when I did some googling after receiving the invite earlier today. It’s interesting why they don’t send the invite to all applicants–I am assuming that they don’t–if the scholarship is open to every applicant.
No, they only send out some. I don’t know the process. Did you have a lot of leadership ECs?
I have three main ones (President, VP, and a team leader position).
