Questions about UCSD? Get a current freshman's perspective

I’m a Computer engineering major who got accepted into revelle, is that bad cus i hear revelle is full of premed? Also on average how much time do you guys get to just hang around with friends?

@gswhoops Revelle does have a lot of pre-med students, but UCSD is general is full of pre-meds. However, after some filter classes the count of pre-meds evens out. Since you’re an engineering major, the only thing I would worry about is that Revelle has a lot of GE requirements, so it might be difficult to graduate in 4 years. You could make it happen, but you might have to take a heavier workload. I am a bio major, and although my classes are fairly challenging, I’m only taking 3 classes so I probably have 6 hours of free time a day. If you’re taking 5 classes and working you will probably have less.

ohh in that case would it be easier to switch to warren, or is that really hard to do? Also do you know if the IB’s can get me out of any GE’s?? thanks so much for all the help

^Your IBs may be able to get you out of some GEs. As far as switch though, it’s not easy. You need to first finish Revelle’s writing sequence and be able to prove that switching colleges can allow you to graduate in four years. It also must be a one to one switch with somebody in that college.
