That’s your call bud. You don’t have much words so talking about more than 2 things may make each too brief. Also, whenever I see stand out i see it as “make it funny.” That’s really the only way to make our essays “stand out” since most of us aren’t super heros or legendary writers. Though make it funny in a way so that it doesn’t rub off as fooling around.

Good luck!

edit: dunno if they’ll know that so you might want to include a brief explanation

Don’t make it boring either. Using diverse diction and fresh phrases also makes it stand out. So avoid all cliches and i’d read part of an eloquent book right before writing to calibrate your mind on the rich language. Remember: they’re reading hundreds of essays. You want to sell yourself as an amazing guy (while not compromising who you truly are).

What do you plan of saying about OEDK? I mean, it is a building.

The ‘Why Rice’ essay should talk about YOU and how Rice inspires you and why you want to be there. Try to avoid listing things about Rice that are good, because we all know the BioE department is excellent. That would not stand out.

On the other hand, focus on something that really rivets you and makes your essay unique.

OEDK isn’t just a building. Well that’s not how I see it, as someone who’s been to Rice isn’t it pretty cool? And I did make it personal, thank tho.
