Questions: Extracurriculars

Hello and thank you for taking the time to answer my questions!

I am trying to get my activities in order, trying to focus them into the ones I participate in the most.
All my activities are focused on three strands: Service, Medicine, and Cultural Awareness .

  1. Pre-Med (Held an officer position, will run again.)
  2. Cultural Awareness (Holding an officer position, will continue to run)
  3. Youth Group
  4. Track
  5. A fairly successful blog focused on cultural awareness, which I plan to try to start service projects with
  6. Light the Candle Member ( A non-profit organization that writes letters to children in the hospital )
  7. Student Ambassador (one of my weaker activities)

I currently have two spaces left over, three if I exclude one of my weaker activities (that I didn’t put much focus or put much effort into).
I plan to do a research activity over the summer (God-willing, if I get accepted), so that would take up one space.
I also plan to join NHS and two more — one for World Language and maybe one for the English Language.

That totals to be four activities. I was wondering is: Could I maybe list all my honor societies as one activity? If that would be allowed, so they don’t take up too much space.

I was considering listing them as honors, but upon further research it did not seem like a good idea.

Also, do my current activities seem unfocused? (A.k.a do they seem to be focused like my three strands would imply?)
They seem fairly focused to me, but I understand it may not appear that away to others.

I think, like you said, you have three strands that you focus on.
For medicine, I would consider volunteering at a hospital to see if you like the environment.

You don’t have to fill up all Common App EC slots, but you can also combine them into a single entry if you have many similar things.

I plan to, but I entered school ‘early’ and I do not turn 16 (the required age) until November of Junior year.
And I thought the honor societies would be considered similar, but I am not sure if it would be perceived the same way by others. Thank you!
