Questions for a Georgetown Freshman?

I don’t know about the Georgetown English Program, as I tested out of those with AP credits. But once again, I’d direct you to the English Department page on the Georgetown College website.

Georgetown has a reputation of moving away from is Christian past and toward its role as a major research institution. Nonetheless, the Jesuits play a great role around campus, mostly just as advisors to students and providing a welcoming atmosphere. You’d really have to seek out the Jesuit culture in order to get involved, they stay pretty low key. They certainly don’t impose any of their religion on you, or tell you what to do.

I would say that stereotypes are created based off of certain truths and I would definitely say that there are quite a few “rich and preppy” students at Georgetown. I wouldn’t say its a majority, but there are a substantial amount. The great thing I think about Georgetown is, even if someone is very rich, I haven’t met anyone that is snobby about it. The common theme is that everyone identifies as a Georgetown student first and foremost, so I certainly don’t see anyone looking down on anyone else based on social class or the way they dress. I am definitely not preppy but I do have preppy friends and I have had no trouble at all. There is certainly someone for everyone. The thing about college, is that it is so different thank high school: there really isn’t a cookie cutter person who “fits in”. Everyone at Georgetown is a Hoya, and the school spirit that comes with that is phenomenal!

Actually Mansfield Nova isn’t my number one I just tried other names and it said they were taken and I was working on my Villanova app so I just did that.

And thanks guhoya14.
