Questions for an Exonian

Hello!

I will be a three-year Upper next year (Junior, 11th grader, whatever) at Phillips Exeter Academy, and I went through the prep school application process. I can answer any questions about applying, Exeter the town, Exeter the school, other prep schools, being a boarding student/day student, what to bring, curriculum, anything! I haven't been on CC since I applied, and rarely go on now, so I'm making this thread for an easy, convenient way answer questions quickly. Feel free to inbox me, too!

How does that make you feel?

how does what make me feel?

that. 10 char

Lol Rad in Plaid.

I will be attending PEA as a prep this fall.
Questions: If you have a free period first period in the morning, would you be allowed to sleep late or go into town?
When sports team go away for games, what do they eat? (I know it’s random)
Do people usually carry their backpacks around the school or leave them in the dorm?
What stores do most girls buy their clothes from?

Question: How do I get in?

first period free: you can spend it doing whatever you want; most ppl choose to sleep or do hw
sports & meals: sometimes provide box lunches, sometimes teams have food tents, sometimes teams will eat in dhall or order pizza
backpacks: ppl normally take a bag to class b/c they have to carry stuff for normally 1-4 classes, but a mojority of stuff is left in their dorm
clothes: uh… you have a lot of different styles. i mean, exeter strives to be diverse, but you always have the preppy look, the normal american eagle and stuff, or whatever
getting in: haha. get good grades, ssat scores, ec’s, and interview :)

How is the Exeter cross country team?

This may sound like a dumb question, but I am going to be a new Lower next year at PEA and I was wondering if Exeter has good school spirit?

Our son does not currently have “texting” enabled on his cell phone. How “mandatory” is that as a communications mode among Exeter students?

What type of laptops do most people have?
What furniture do people have in their rooms besides the ones that come with the room?

so i’ve kinda stopped going on here, so please inbox me, so it goes to my e-mail!

–> cross country: i am not sure, i am not a runner, but i do have a friend on the team and we seem to win a lot. you can find all stats online (exeter.edu)

–> school spirit: YES! at e/a (exeter/andover games) people seriously paint themselves red and wear crazy things! exeter is not a school; it is a community. we live together, eat together, learn together. you meet your teachers’ families in dhall, you live with your bffs- it’s togetherness to a new level

–> laptops: mixture of pc’s and macs (i’m a pc  if you’re looking for brand, whatever you want, but we get a discount at dell but they make kinda of crappy computers. if you’re on any fa, you get like $800 for a laptop or something like that too. i have a toshiba :)

–> furniture: chairs, futons, extra shelving, extra lamps, illegal beanbags (they’re against fire codes/e-book, but ppl still have them) you should probs see what your roommate brings b/c if you both brought large chairs that might be a problem- and who knows, you could get the smallest room in the dorm and not have room for anything!
