Questions- Help?!

I'm a rising senior who is fairly new to this forum, and i have a couple of questions. If you have any advice, please let me know.

First, I completely panicked during the SAT essay. I had NO clue that colleges could see your essay. I got a 7, but my examples were awful. (one about china's alleged underage athletes & one about being tempted to cheat- but thankfully i included that i didn't!) Is this gonna seriously affect my chances at schools???

Second, I am fairly certain that i want to do something in the business field. However, my math scores aren't too great. Would i have a better chance at admissions going into school undelcared or as a business major?? I have some business-related awards and activites, does that change anything?

Scores:
SAT- M: 560 CR: 680 W:630 essay: 7
ACT- C:29 M: 27 E: 31 R: 32 S: 25 CR/W: 29 essay: 8
I'm taking both of these again!

My weighted GPA is a 3.99, unweighted around 3.7.

the only thing that’s gonna seriously affect your chances are those scores (assuming you want to go to a really good school)

i’m looking at good schools, but i understand that HYP are out of my reach. Most of my scores (except math) are pretty typical/solid for the schools i’m looking at. I’m considering Bentley, Bryant, and Northeastern mostly. I just wanted to make sure that my essay wouldn’t demolish my chances.

a 25-min essay isn’t going to matter much, besides, how well you did was shown in the SAT writing score already.

They don’t read every single SAT essay I think, just when they want to see if your English is proficient? IDK.

With an improvement (50-100 pts, maybe?) on your total SAT score, you should be fine for those colleges entering as a business major. Don’t sweat too much about the essay.

anyone else have an opinion for me?

We have the same SAT score. :)

I think I would just focus on doing well in math-related courses. I assume you’re not looking at Wharton or anything so shouldn’t have too much trouble.
