Hi! So I’m expecting to be deferred to Michigan when decisions come out. How does the process work of getting accepted after that?
Send in a letter of continued interest at the beginning of next year, and do well for those semester grades. They’ll post rolling decisions throughout February and March.
Thank you! Should I continue to check my account or wait to be emailed?
Do both, but don’t count yourself out yet for EA!
@whizkid98 So there is no fixed date on which they would release all the RD decisions? If they just release them on a rolling basis, would EA deferred applicants hear their RD decisions the soonest since they applied the earliest?
Not necessarily. I heard back before any RD applicant did, but one of my friends who eventually got in heard back in March, after many RD applicants did. He applied EA like I did.
No fixed date like Ivies. They release decisions in batches, on no particular schedule, which is maddening and frustrating for the students who are waiting. No, the applicants deferred from EA do not hear back sooner than the RD applicants—you are just in the regular RD pool at that point. My D heard back (after being deferred from EA) in early February. From reading this board I learned that some people didn’t hear until April.
Alright, thank you both ^
