hey everyone

im somewhat a bio guy, but also big on english and languages. im quite sure id take a fair amount of bio courses, but i dont know if i plan to major in biology, i hope to figure that out at college. My question is: how is the biology program at middlebury, are there a lot of students in it?

also, whats the social scene like up there? is it mostly partying, or is there a lot of other stuff to do (i do enjoy partying, but i dont want it to be a daily thing for me)?

Biology--more specifically, Environmental Studies--is one of Midd's best programs. We have fantastic facilities in McCardell Bicentennial Hall, and I can definitely recommend one or two professors. As for the social scene...there are social houses that provide parties for those over twenty-one. People also have parties in their rooms, the school and commons often organize dance parties, dinners, game nights, movie showings, concerts. We have gambling and bingo nights in the dining halls--recently they warmed up the pool, filled it with floaties and projected Jaws on the wall. There are lectures, free showings of recently released movies, musicals, plays, lectures...I am never, ever bored. Middlebury itself isn't big...it has several nice restaurants, a coffeehouse, bookstore, art galleries. Burlington is a 45 minute drive away, but people don't go up there too often. Hope that answers your question!
