Questions regarding Financial Aid Appeal

Hello. I need to appeal my financial aid award and I have a few questions relating to that.

  1. Is it acceptable for me to email my appeal to the financial aid office (i.e. financialaid@stanford.edu). Or should I fax it?

  2. Do I need to include any information other than my name, Stanford ID#, and copy of a more generous offer from a peer institution?

  3. Approximately how long would it take for the financial aid office to respond?

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Oh one more question: Do I need to attach a copy of Stanford’s offer as well? Or is that unnecessary since they would have it on file?

@go4cornell We’re appealing Yale’s award, and their instructions say to fill out an online contact form or call, so we started with an inquiry on the online form (no documentation). If we don’t hear anything by the end of today, we’ll call too. Good luck!
