Questions Regarding Harvard Transfer

Hi Everyone,

I have some questions regarding Harvard Transfer Applications. What do they look for the most in transfer applications? When do you apply for transfer (do you apply while you're still a freshman since the application deadline is March 15) ?

Thanks,

Brit

Can anyone get ahold of the transfer office today? I think they turned off their phones and are only responding to messages at this point...

You'd apply by March 15th of your freshmen year. I'd say get the stuff in way before the deadline. At least by early February. It shows you are interested, just as if you were applying as a freshmen. You should try to get the best GPA your frosh year and be involved in clubs and activites and so on. Get to know a few professors really well. I mean not intimently, but be on good terms.

February 15 is the deadline, and you have to have a really, really compelling, well thought out reason to transfer

Yeah, not sure about that.

I do recall reading an article about transfers to Harvard who cited their reasons for transferring as some of the following:

"Middlebury was way out in the middle of no where."

"I liked Grinnell...but I need a school with a good name."

So, perhaps it really just comes down to how much they want you -- not how much you need them.

Anyone get an interview yet?
