Questions

My D has asked me to post a few questions:

How do you get your Emory Personal ID (EMPLID) which you need to get your EmoryCard and to register for housing?

What are the ATMS on campus that do not charge fees?

Is Cingular an okay phone plan as far as reception, etc.?

Any laptop feedback? Are the computers offered through the bookstore the way to go?

Thanks!

1) in opus, go to the academics link, then to the "view unofficial transcript" link, change the report type to "advising document" and then press go. i'm sure there is an easier way to find your ID ( like by viewing financial aid reports) but this way works also.

Unless you have an account with the issuing bank, I never heard of ATMs waiving fees.

3.Cingular? Why not Verizon?

Personally, I'd buy a laptop from Dell. Never mind the comp's features, the stipulations such as warranty, Dell's services, etc. are great.

Yes, that is what I meant - which banks have machines on campus? Thanks amadani, she found her ID.

cingular is dope, i love cingular! stay with CINGULAR THEY HAVE THE BEST PHONES!!

Forget the best phones lol. The service is key. Verizon has great, great service.

I thought people waited till they got on campus to buy it from the Emory computer store cause it's cheaper. Is it better to buy direct from dell?

i know for sure that there are wachovia and bank of america ATMs by the DUC as well as one other bank's ATM though i cant remember which one it is. also, during orientation there will be representative from various banks available to help with opening new accounts. i would advise on opening with bank of america if you need a new account because they have an ATM on campus as well as an actual bank location right in emory village

as for computers. i was a freshman at emory this past year and i dont know of anyone who bought there computer at the emory store. i would advise you order from dell or gateway or another such place.

At the Dobbs University Center, there are ATMs for Wachovia, SunTrust, and Bank of America.
