I recently received an email from a college I am applying to offering the peak performance application, which gave me an essay waiver and a quick admission decision opportunity. What I don’t understand is if a quick admission opportunity is the same thing as early decision which is binding, or if it is like early action and just give an edge on being accepted.
Thanks
@cdelaurie what college is it? I’ve gotten a lot of quick admission decision packets and all of them in my experience were non-binding. More than likely it’s just early action and if it was binding they would note it in the letter/e-mail they sent you. If you’re hesitant about it, you can always call or email the college for clarification. Hope this helps!
@QMusic It was University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Perfect that was just what I needed to hear I will email the admissions office and ask for clarification thank you!
Some schools with clearly defined admissions criteria offer no cost or immediate decisions to attract qualified applicants. They admit you in a flurry and make you feel special; in turn, you feel positive about them and eventually, might matriculate.
These on-the-spot or expedited acceptances are never binding – it’s marketing.
@T26E4 Ok so as long as i don’t read too much into it they will be beneficial for me?
Remember: colleges WANT to admit you (and your tuition of course). Thus all the fancy marketing and means to attract your attention.
The only downside is if it’s a complete non-consideration. If there’s no way you’d attend, don’t bother.
@T26E4 Ok Thanks for the advice.
