<p>Not freshman year. Freshman year you will have at least one roommate, possibly more, depending on your dorm. After that, each dorm has a lottery for room picks. If you don’t want to live in the same dorm sophomore year (which is very rare), you can apply to transfer to a different dorm. If you want to live in a specific other dorm, you will need to be pulled in by someone else who already lives in that dorm as a roommate. If you want a single sophomore year or later and your dorm doesn’t have many singles, you can float for a single, but there is no guarantee. Room picks are given in order of seniority and, within your class year, by lottery.</p>
