My goal is to aim for straight a's all through high school.
To achieve this goal, would I it be alright if I took 2 ap sophomore year, 3 junior, and 3 senior??
too much? too low?

should I lower or higher my APS?
I want to be sure I will get at least a 4.0 though.

I would say that’s a little low. Higher end colleges(like Vassar) are going to have loads of kids who apply with 4.0’s but you want to set yourself apart with a demanding schedule that shows you have interests beyond maintaining your GPA. I just go into Vassar with a 3.7 and 11 AP’s.

I think it depends on how many AP courses are offered at your high school.

i think its a more equal balance of gpa and APs. i had 5 APs this year, but only 1 last year. So in total i only took six(and there are about 12 offered in my school) and i got in. (i did have mostly A+'s though, which is a 4.22 in my school.)
