Hey, ive been recently accepted through ED into the CALS Biology and Society Major and my main goal is to get into law school. I love biology and improving the community which is why i chose this major. I know you dont need a specific major to get into law school but does anyone know if a good amount of people in this major go on to law school. Would it help me or should i switch into another major or maybe even another college like CAS or HumEc? Also, does anyone know if i get Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in this major? Thanks.

P.S. Congrats to all those who got into Cornell. I know its a bit late lol. Also, for those who were deferred or rejected, don't worry. A person at my school got deferred but she got a full scholarship to Northeastern, so it all works out.

Awesome, I also got into CALS with Biology and Society as my major... I think I remember reading around the forums somewhere that people with a Bio & Society major can go into various fields such as law and medicine.

Dewdrop87 (CALS Bio and Society alumna):
"Bio and Society majors go into so many fields after graduation. From my year (the Class of '08): medical school, law school, grad school for genetic counseling, non-profit organizations and so many others."

For CAS the major results in a B.A., but for CALS I believe, the major results in a B.S.

sweet! i look forward to seeing you in my classes :). Thanks for the info. I'm thankful that i chose CALS because i want a BS. Just in case i don't get into law school i think BS will take me places. This is great :). Looking forward to Fall 09 when we finally start. It's quite annoying having to wait so long :P. oh well...haha

omg cornellhopeful13....have you memorized everything I've told you about Biology and Society??? :-P

To the OP: The thing I loved about the program is the flexibility. You design your own theme and there are so many paths you can follow after graduation. The core courses were boring for me.....but I created a fun theme for myself and took a wide variety of classes that I think gave me great prep for medical school (when I get my butt in...lol).
