quick question bout recommendation

saw this HUGE thread about recommendation letters and this is what i got from it.

i'm a junior..and want to ask my teachers recommendation letters before summer so they have plenty of time.

so i HAVE to sign up common application, print out "teacher evaluation form".. then give one to the teachers that i want. THen tell them which colleges u want them to send it to so they can make photocopies.. provide each of them with equal number of stamped envelops..

am i missing anything??

and so my question is...what to do after this? like what happens if the colleges get the recommendation. I mean i didn't like even start my application process (besides this recommendation letter thing), so when colleges get a random person's recommendation letter, what happens??? Do they just store it for later use or w/e?? and how do i know if the college gets it or not? Do they like make me an account or something? iono..if u guys know what i mean..

sorry, its kinda long, but i'm just stumped and running out of time.

i don’t know if colleges hold just the recommendation itself (im a junior as well), but if they don’t, you can always ask your teachers to put a hold on the sending until you’re actually applying

You can get them to submit it online–then no problemo.

Usually the school will store all the uncategorized materials in a gigantic file, then only create an individual file after you submit the Common App. When the individual file is opened, they’ll go look for the orphaned stuff and put it into your file.
