Quick question: non-NMF but 2400 SAT?

@IBfootballer: I agree wholeheartedly. I already have a study plan in place for the fall. 2500, here I come! If not, I am more of a Taco Bell person…

@mom2collegekids: I had also heard about Pres Scholars, but like you I heard there was no scholarship involved. (Maybe I could kidnap a prominent Washington official and bend their ear until they have to give me money!)

Thanks so much about the tips for Case and Washington & Lee!! I’m looking into those as I speak/write!

Also, anyone know anything about Occidental’s merit-aid? It seems pretty hefty. Let me know if you know something!

You are getting sound advice from some long-tme CCers with knowledge so I will only add a few things.

Start to look for scholarships now (see threads elsewhere on CC). Have the list and get ready to apply as the application window can be short. If you have good ECs to match your SATs, you will be in the running for some of the larger national scholarships. These aren’t always shoe-ins, but you might be able to pick up 10% of your share that way.

Look for schools with merit aid. With 2400 SAT, you should get some money. At a number of schools (even those costing $50K); if you have good recs, decent ECs and good grades these SATs should bring you a meaningful reduction in tuition - even to the point that $100K will cover your costs.

Good luck
